Lakeshore CAP 0.5k

Join us for the Lakeshore CAP 0.5K, “Race for the Rest of Us,” and experience the glory of participating in one of those events you’ve only dreamed about. Well… probably not dreamed about, but maybe thought about for a minute. This is a family friendly event that will have some kids activities along with fun for adults to enjoy as well.

This, um, race may be the most grueling event of your life. Designed for the classic underachiever, this tongue-in-cheek athletic competition encourages participants to train by sleeping in late, eating donuts, and drinking beer.

Participants will receive:

A swag bag with goodies including:
A smug oval magnet for your car
A one-of-a-kind event t-shirt
A participation medal — because we celebrate ALL abilities and underachievers

Simply by paying the registration fee you have earned bragging rights for surviving the punishing 546.8-yard / 1,640-foot course. 

You’ll be paced by 'athletes' with exceptional abilities who will help get you to the finish line in record speed.  Best of all, you’ll be raising money for a great local cause.

Stick around after the race for food, beer, music, and plenty of opportunities for us to separate you from your cash through raffles and games. This is a fundraiser after all.

The race starts and ends at PetSkull Brewing and winds around a treacherous small city block guaranteed to leave your legs burning and your lungs on fire.

Along the course, you’ll encounter themed rest stations, enthusiastic supporters, and possibly first aid provided by volunteers with questionable qualifications — or maybe a retired nurse if we can find one.

Parking is available around PetSkull Brewing and on surrounding streets. You may need to park a block or two away. Consider it your warm-up.

Packet pick-up will take place prior to the event. No need to wake up early for this race — it doesn’t start until 1:00 PM.

Roll out of bed around 11:15 AM and be there by 11:30 to pick up your swag bag. Look for volunteers, a table, a tent, or something vaguely organized. Your stuff will be there. Probably.

Proceeds from the Lakeshore CAP 0.5K benefit Lakeshore CAP, a local nonprofit organization serving individuals and families in our community for 60 years.
